How do you create a training plan in Coachably?
TL;DR: Open the Plans sub-tab, tap Create Plan, and work through three steps. Finish with Save & Activate to go live, or Save as Draft to come back later.
How do you create a training plan?
Follow these steps to build a plan for your client.
- Go to the Trainings tab, then open the Plans sub-tab.
- Tap Create Plan.
- Choose how to start:
- Create from Scratch — start with a blank plan.
- Use Template — pick an existing plan template and customize it.
- On the Basic Info step, enter the Plan Name (required) and an optional Description.
- On the Configuration step, set the Duration Type (Weeks or training count), the Training Type (Coach-Assisted or Client Solo), and the Scheduling Mode (Strict or Flexible). In Strict mode, also set the Weekly Pattern — which days and times.
- On the Review step, pick the Client and set the Start Date. To bill for the plan, turn on Add payment for this plan and enter the amount.
- Tap Save & Activate to make the plan live right away, or Save as Draft to finish it later.
If you turn on Save as Template on the Review step, Coachably also saves a copy as a plan template for future reuse.
How does Strict vs Flexible scheduling work?
Strict scheduling means you assign specific days and times each week. Coachably then places draft trainings in your client’s calendar on those days automatically. Flexible scheduling has no fixed schedule. You schedule each training whenever it suits the client.
FAQ
What’s the difference between Strict and Flexible scheduling? Strict scheduling fixes the days and times each week, and Coachably auto-places trainings on those days. Flexible scheduling has no fixed days — you schedule each training yourself, whenever it works for the client.
Can I create a plan from an existing template? Yes. On the source step, choose Use Template, pick a plan template, and customize it from there. The wizard then walks you through the same three steps.
What’s the difference between “Save as Draft” and “Save & Activate”? Save as Draft stores the plan so you can finish it later. Save & Activate makes the plan live for the client right away.
Can I attach a payment to a training plan? Yes. On the Review step, turn on Add payment for this plan and enter the amount before you save.
