How do you create a training in Coachably?

TL;DR: On the Trainings screen, tap Add Training. Pick a Sport and how to build the session (Create from Scratch, Use a Template, or Use an Existing Workout), then work through Details (name, client, date & time), Exercises, and Schedule. Tap Save, or Save as Draft to finish later.

How do you create a training?

  1. On the Trainings screen, tap Add Training. The Add workout window opens first.
  2. Pick the Sport at the top — Strength, Running, Cycling, or Swimming. Strength keeps the classic exercise-and-sets builder; the endurance sports open an interval builder instead. (For an endurance sport you can also set the pool length for swimming or mark the session a Test.)
  3. Choose how to build the session:
    • Create from Scratch — build it yourself in the Workout Builder.
    • Use a Template — start from a saved workout template.
    • Use an Existing Workout — copy one of this client’s past workouts (shown once a client is set).
  1. In Details, enter a Name, keep the Type on Training, and pick a Client with Select a client. Add a Description if you want, then set the Date, Time, and Duration (min). Tap Next.
  1. In Exercises, review the session and tap to open the Workout Builder if you want to adjust it, then tap Next.
  1. In Schedule, choose whether the training repeats. If you charge for the session, leave Create a payment for this session on — the amount is pre-filled from your pricing defaults, and you can edit it. Tap Save, or Save as Draft to finish later.

Need to step back and fix something? Tap Back to return to the previous step.

What happens after you save a training?

The training appears on the Trainings screen and on the client’s schedule. Your client can see when the session takes place.

If you left Create a payment for this session on, a payment is also created for the client — pre-filled from your default session price. For a repeating series, a separate payment is created for each session.

If you tapped Save as Draft instead, the training stays private as a draft. Open it again anytime to finish the details and save it for real.

How do you plan a training for a client online?

The flow is the same whether you coach in person or online. Set the Date and Time in the Details step, and your client sees the session in their app — there’s nothing extra to fill in for an online session.

To build a recurring schedule, use the Schedule step. Choose Repeats to create a series, or leave it on Does not repeat for a one-off.

How do you duplicate a training?

Built a session you’d like to run again? Open the training from the Trainings screen and tap the Duplicate icon in the header. The Add Training window opens pre-filled from the original — same client, sport, description, and exercises, with “(Copy)” added to the name. Nothing is saved until you review the details, set a new Date and Time, and tap Save, so the original stays untouched.

FAQ

What is the first thing I choose when creating a training? The Add workout window opens first. Pick the Sport (Strength, Running, Cycling, or Swimming) and how to build the session — Create from Scratch, Use a Template, or Use an Existing Workout — before you fill in the details.

Can I plan a running, cycling, or swimming session? Yes. Pick the sport in the Add workout window. Strength uses the exercise-and-sets builder; endurance sports use an interval builder. See How to build a workout? for the details.

Can I save a training as a draft? Yes. Tap Save as Draft in the Schedule step. The draft stays private until you reopen it and save the finished training.

Can I create the payment at the same time? Yes. In the Schedule step, keep Create a payment for this session on. The amount is pre-filled from your pricing defaults, and a separate payment is created for each session in a repeating series.

Can I reuse a training I already built? Yes. Open the training and tap the Duplicate icon in the header. Coachably opens the Add Training window pre-filled from it — with “(Copy)” added to the name — so you can set a new date and save it as a new session without touching the original.

How do I make a training recurring? In the Schedule step, choose Repeats. This creates a series instead of a single session.

What is the difference between a training and an event? A training is a workout session you plan for a client. An event is any other entry on the schedule. Pick one under Type.
